This is Doug, a French Bulldog. He was a joy to draw, I loved the textures in this image and really enjoyed drawing the knitted jacket. The original photo had quite a busy 'living room' background so I removed it in the drawing to focus the attention solely on Doug.

I started this gorgeous little dog by lightly putting down a layer of coloured pencil giving special attention to the eyes.

Adding layers of pencil to create a depth of colour and details of fur and whiskers.

This part of the drawing was so much fun. I loved recreating the beaded collar and knitted jacket, capturing all the gorgeous textures.

Think I'm finished here, I was really pleased with the overall effect and added a shadow just to give him some weight.
