Great Dane

I am a great fan of Vieler Photography. Christian takes the most amazing photographs of dogs, and I found myself 'drawn' to this Great Dane with the fabulous textures and colours in his face and fur. He's quite big approx A2 size!

Not For Sale

I started by capturing that watery eye and the lovely pink nose. Also some directional strokes for a base layer of fur.

I really enjoyed drawing the nose and mouth areas of this dog. was great fun to do.

Almost finished, finally layering the neck fur making sure to put down the correct tonal values.

Added this photo to show the scale of the drawing, probably the biggest I've done so far.
