This is Jinnie, a friend's cat drawn for her husband's birthday.

I love cat's eyes. They are like convex glass with enamel colours underneath and they are beautiful

to draw.

Building up the layers to create the colours
in the fur of her face.

Putting in the blurred background of the garden behind her with pencils, which I've smudged with a sponge applicator.

Deepening the background colours and adding whiskers and fur detail around the mouth.
